Eurowings launches routes from Vienna.

Lufthansa Group’s budget subsidiary Eurowings has disclosed routes to be launched from its first non-German base in Vienna as well as an interline agreement with Bangkok Airways for its planned long-haul division.

Starting on the 9th November, Eurowings will serve Barcelona, London Stansted, Majorca and Rome from the Austrian capital Vienna.

But flights to Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca have been planned for the winter schedule only, while services to Rome and Stansted appear to be part of a year-round schedule.

Eurowings says that Rome is to be served thrice weekly and Stansted six times per week.

Eurowings’ Vienna-based aircraft will be operated by Austrian Airlines with pilots and flight attendants from that airline. The two carriers have arranged codeshares for Eurowings flights from Vienna.

With Bangkok Airways, Eurowings has arranged an interline agreement for flights to the Thai capital from Cologne. These are scheduled to begin in October .

The agreement covers Bangkok Airways’ domestic services to Chiang Mai, Ko Samui, Krabi and Udon Thani, plus flights to Phnom Penh and Siem Reap in Cambodia.

Eurowings is based in the german city called Düsseldorf and has 24 planes with more to come.
